Welcome to 30perperson.org

Over 4 million people die every year from diseases related to polluted drinking water. Of this amount, over 1.8 million are children who die from diarrhea. The World Health Organization recently reported that 884 million people still lack access to clean water. Some experts believe it would cost as little as $9 billion to provide clean water to the entire world. This number pales in comparison to the recent $800 billion financial bailout and the more than $600 billion price tag for the war in Iraq.

There are almost 306 million Americans. With some simple math we've found that if every man, woman and child in the US gave just $30, it would provide us with over $9 billion to potentially solve this problem.

30perperson.org is hosting it's first public event!

30perperson is celebrating our first year as a small grassroots gaggle of fools who believe in the restoration of all things. We believe in making the world a better place to live for all people. We believe that giving people clean water to drink should be the first of many priorities to pull people out of extreme poverty. This year marks the beginning of a three year project to film some of the major organizations out there that are doing amazing things with their donors money. There are unsung heroes, right in our very community (and maybe yours?), who sacrifice so that people around the world can have safe drinking water. This film project will seek to tell the story of people who believe that "we can do this." It will serve as a call to action, to make safe drinking water a new household conversation.Ê We aim to make this film seriously challenging and yet fun. Our goal is to show that safe drinking water for the world can be right around the corner... if we want it to be.
We have the resources to do this, now we just need the will. We need to believe it's possible.
